Dr. Nana Ama Browne Klutse

President of Mafubo Ghana

Nana Ama Browne Klutse is a senior professor in the physics department at the University of Ghana. She teaches physics and related courses. She oversees the research of students in Ghana and abroad at Masters and Doctorate levels. She is also an external examiner for Ghanaian universities.

She was previously a senior researcher at the Ghana Institute for Space Science and Technology at the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission and Director of the Institute’s Center for Remote Sensing and Climate.

She holds a doctorate in climatology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. Her research focuses on climate modeling, assessing the impact of climate on society (health, energy and gender). She has worked on national and international projects and consultations, including the climate and health project in Ghana and the ongoing CORDEX experience. She is the lead author of Working Group 1 of the sixth assessment report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (2018 to 2021). She has co-authored a number of journal articles and academic books to her credit.

She dedicates her life to community services, counseling young men and women for education, self-confidence and personal motivation. It also trains professional teachers and artisans in etiquette and assertiveness. As part of her service of giving back to society, she is a motivating speaker and expresses herself effectively on all platforms. In her spare time, she spends time with children with learning disabilities.

For her, the empowerment of women is essential to the development of any country. They play a catalytic role in bringing about the transformational economic, environmental and social changes necessary for sustainable development.
